• NGPP is a member of the Joint Industry Task Force.  The task force is comprised of representatives from the Wallcoverings Association (WA), the Painting & Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA), the Paint & Decorating Retailers Association (PDRA) and the National Guild of Professional Paperhangers (NGPP).  The purpose of the task force is the development of industry-wide projects and the gaining of industry-wide exposure.
  
  
• A Lending Library and Video Catalogue afford members an opportunity to view previous educational demonstrations and lectures as well as read industry and craft-related books.  Contact the National Office for video listing and ordering information as orders are customized. The Lending Library book list availability should be verified before request.
  
  
• Guild members may use the NGPP logo on stationary, business cards, proposal sheets, etc. Merchandise is available to current members with the NGPP logo at a nominal fee.
  
  
• A Product Reporting Service is available to members to report problems with paper or other industry-related products.  Reports are subsequently forwarded to the manufacturer for further investigation or research.  Members may participate on-line, by a toll-free number or by mail.
  
  
• NGPP sponsors a Product Testing Service for manufacturers of wallcovering-related products.  Guild members will test materials and provide reports necessary to the release of a new product or to enhance or change an existing product.  A nominal fee is charged to Guild members.
  
  
• An annual Resource Guide (directory) is mailed to all members at the beginning of the year.  This Guide provides contact information for the more than 800 members including mailing information, telephone and fax numbers, email addresses, websites and chapter affiliation.  For additional or replacement copies, contact NGPP.

• Thibaut Wallcovering (brands - Leoda De Mar) offers Guild members a $100 set up fee when the paperhanger stops hanging per the instructions due to a defect.  A sample along with the installer’s contact information and description of problem, must be sent to Thibaut’s Quality Assurance department for testing.  Contact the NGPP National Office for more information.  When a defect is confirmed, Thibaut will send the member a check for the set up fee. 
  
  
• An annual Winning Walls With Wallcovering contest sponsored by The Zinsser Company, is available to members with cash prizes and national media exposure. Contest applications appear as inserts in The Installer newsletter prior to the July 1st deadline each year.

What is an Associate Member?

In general, Associate Members are manufacturers, distributors, retailers, architects, interior designers, removers, and the trade specialist. Membership in the Guild helps them strengthen their ties to paperhangers, to add to the consumer’s awareness of the importance of wallcoverings and to advance the cause of quality products and expert craftsmanship in the decorating products industry.

The National Guild of Professional Paperhangers, the only national organization devoted exclusively to the interests and needs of the professional wallcovering installer, provides a way for others in the industry to work with our members in a mutually beneficial manner. Two categories of membership are available.

National Associate Membership

A National Associate Member is a company affiliated with the wallcoverings industry that markets or distributes manufactured products or services on a multi-regional or national basis. National Associate Members receive national exposure, and company representatives have an open invitation to attend meetings and functions of local chapters and members. National Associate Members currently have their own committee, the chair of which is a non-voting member of the Guild’s board of directors.

Chapter Associate Membership

A Chapter Associate Member is a company, retail store or manufacturer’s sales representative located in the vicinity of a chartered chapter of the Guild. Many sales representatives of National Associate members join local chapters of the Guild to make contacts with local installers, designers, retail store managers and store employees.

Guild members are the primary buyers of the myriad support products used in the wallcovering industry. Guild members are business professionals, seeking state-of-the-art products, equipment, and ideas to give them a competitive edge in the business market. Associate members can educate our members in areas of business and marketing. Regular Guild members educate associates in the areas of technique and product.

Since its founding in 1974, the Guild has steadily grown in membership, resources, programs, and influence within the industry. Nearly 1,000 wallcoverings installers in over 30 Chapters are proud of what they do and of the association that provides continual educational opportunities for upgrading their craft.
